Bugs, bad maintenance, apartment falling apart

This apartment was filthy when I moved in. Several windows are broken and I am still trying to get them all fixed. Maintenance comes out if you have a problem and fixes maybe one thing out of three.
The BUGS are TERRIBLE: ants, crickets, spiders, and management won't exterminate. Squirrels in the walls and ceilings as well, but management won't fix that either.
I've had some bad smells, rotting floors, uneven/sloping floors, cracked walls, the heater rusting to pieces (literally--rusted chunks are constantly falling out of the heater onto the floor), doors that are warped and crooked, years and years of thick paint peeling from walls, doors and window sills that I actually have to vacuum up. And the nearest dumpsters in any direction are between 1-2 blocks walking distance, and forget about finding a parking spot!
These buildings should be condemned, and I regret ever moving in here. I don't feel safe here because my apartment is falling apart and the management office blows me off when I call for help. They'll tell you they're going to fix it, but no matter how many times you call, they won't. They also won't tell you when they are going to be in your apartment, they just enter when you're not there. The only reason I know is because of the changes I see in my place when I get home.

Every one of these points is true. I'm currently in the process of getting out of here and can tell you that any good review written regarding these apartments is either written by someone who works here (and some of these favorable reviews are obviously bogus), written by trailer trash, or written by someone who has at least a mild learning disability. Let me address the points one by one.
The windows: My windows look like they are new, but my outside base is dented badly already and the seal is non-existant. Insects just come right on in.
Maintenance: Also true. Maintenance only comes right out in the case of an extreme emergency where a lawsuit might be possible. And even then, the "fixing one out of three problems" thing is totally true. They aren't competent enough to fix any problems. much less more than one in a visit. It's like they have to go back to study a "Janitoring For Dummies" book before they can even attempt to fix anything. (Oh, and don't try to explain your problem to them because they either don't speak english, or act like they don't speak english).
Bugs: The insects are atrocious. The biggest offender in my building was crickets. It started with baby crickets in the spring (multiple crickets PER DAY in my apartment) and graduated to full grown crickets (still at least one a day and they were everywhere including the BEDROOM). The office will act like they care the first time you call to get an exterminator. After that (and by the way, they don't send an exterminator - they just tell you that they will), they get audibly annoyed that you are calling about it and act like it's your problem, not their problem). The crickets come out from under your baseboard heating and the office people will actually tell you that they know this, but will do nothing about it. By the way, my apartment is on the SECOND FLOOR and I have all these crickets.
Bad Smells, cracked walls, and uneven floors: You will come home sometimes and think you forgot to take your trash out because of the smell, but when you check you will realize that you did take your trash out and it's just your apartment that smells like rotting flesh and mildewed wood. The walls are cracked and the floors are indeed uneven. In fact, in the very middle of my bedroom floor, you can feel the screw sticking up through the floor (presumably) from the downstairs neighbor's ceiling fan.
Also, the dumpsters are seemingly miles away and the worst outside feature is easily the parking situation. Cars are packed in like sardines and the complex was obviously either built way back when most families were lucky to even own one car, much less a husband and wife EACH having a vehicle - or the complex was just built by idiots with no common sense. If you come home from work or from being out any time later than 6:30 pm, you will be lucky to find an empty spot even 10 percent of the time. And finally, the point about the office people blowing us off is completely true. They are super awesome until they get you to move in and start paying rent and then they ignore you completely. They aren't there until after 11 am (or at least they don't answer the phones) and the head honch lady turns into a complete and utter witch after she receives your first rent check. When you call, they blow you off (if you even get an answer) and they act like you're annoying them by asking them to do their job.
This place is a dump. Oh and by the way, they just upped the rent to levels that you'd expect to pay for a regular apartment with modern appliances (my oven is a half-size oven that never worked, there is no dishwasher, and the mini-stack washer dryer is from the 80's). Also, the apartments are the size of studio apartments. Seriously, you can do so much better than this and you can do it easily. Pick almost any other apartment complex in South Jersey and you will get more bang for your buck. Steer clear. This place is a mess.
