Wingate Apartments: An EXCELLENT Experience!
From: appeasednpleasedDate posted: 4/16/2009
Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I have been a resident at Wingate Apartments for one year and am incredibly happy with my experience for the following reasons:
1. Management: Wingate's office staff are courteous, respectful, and caring professionals. When searching for a residence I looked at approximately 10 apartments and at the vast majority I found the leasing agent/manager to be stand-offish, rude, and/or appeared annoyed by my questions. Wingate's staff recognizes that serving tenants is their primary responsibility and does so with diligence and patience.
2. Facility: I have a one bedroom apartment and work out of my home. I do not ever feel crowded, have plenty of bedroom and living room space and am content with the overall layout. More important than the space is the quality of the materials in the home. When viewing the apartment, I first noticed the well-polished hardwood floors. The appliances are also up-to-date and the window treatments (mini-blinds) are new and clean. Doorknobs, caulking, paint, and stair banisters are all well-maintained.
While I have seen one or two spiders during the summer months, I believe that is a result of me keeping my windows open for extended periods. I have not seen any roaches, ants or rodents.
3. Maintenance: While here I have experienced two non-emergency maintenance concerns and both were addressed within 3 hours.
4. Grounds/Parking: Parking is un-assigned and plentiful. There are several dumpsters on the property and residents are good about proper disposal. The lawns on the property are gorgeous and the grass is cut during spring and summer months on a weekly basis. If you have children, there is a lot of sidewalk space and lawn area away from the parking lot for your children to entertain themselves outdoors.
5. Neighbors: The people in the complex are very friendly and speak each time I see them out. One of my neighbors, with whom I had only a Hi and Bye relationship, drove me to the hospital when I experienced an emergency. On another occasion, I left the lights on in my car and my neighbor knocked on my door to inform me.
6. Noise: As previously stated, I work from home and a quiet environment is of the utmost importance. This complex is one of the quietest places I have ever lived. My parents live in a very expensive/well-to-do suburban neighborhood and I hear more noise there than I do at this residence. It is shockingly quiet. When I first moved here I couldn t believe it and held my breath for about 3 months waiting for the barrage of noise that many of my friends experience at their apartment buildings.
7. Security: I am a young, single woman and I come and go in my apartment as I please. The parking lot is lit and sidewalks are open and easily accessed. I take usual pre-cautions (locking doors, carrying mace, etc.), but that is the same behavior I would engage in anywhere else.
Overall, this experience has been an incredible one and my decision to live here was excellent. I am relocating in the next few months (to be closer to NYC) and am planning to live in another Legow Property in northern NJ.
