I live in Cedar Lane Apts. After living here for 3 years, I have some gripes about this complex.

First of all, the number of insects around the buildings is RIDICULOUS. This is due to the large amount of trees/shrubs/bushes that surround the buildings. These bugs make their way into your apartment through cracks in the wall/window area or through the (extremely old) air conditioning units. This is especially true at night if you have a light on in your apartment. If you like running at night, do not plan to do so around the complex, because you will get bugs in your mouth (im serious... it has happened to me more than once).

Second, the standard kitchens in these apartments are small and OLD. My oven has to be lit with a match every time I want to use it. The cabinets look like they've been here since the 70s. Don't even think you'll have a dishwasher. The exception to this is if you get an apartment with an "upgraded kitchen" for $145 per month extra in rent. (That's an additional $1,740 per year for a kitchen that just looks "normal.")

Third, the laundry rooms are DIRTY. I don't know why they can't keep the laundry rooms decently clean. (If you get an apartment with a small washer/dryer unit installed, that is $90 per month extra... or $1080 extra per year.)

I really don't think these apartments are worth the price. Personally, I'm looking to move out soon. The basic apartments (without the upgrades) are cheaper than others in the area, but you definitely get what you pay for.
