I lived in a 1 bdrm at the end by the nature preserve for the past year. I moved out as soon as the lease was up because we definitely had bed bugs. I couldn't sleep in the bed for the last 6 months because I ended up with a rash when I did, I slept on the couch instead. Then facilities lets the areas around the garbage dumpsters get really nasty. It wasn't uncommon to have garbage strewn all over the grass all the time. Then I agree with the comment posted on 8/17/07. The lifeguard was EXTREMELY RUDE. I paid $80 per person for two people in our apt. to use that pool. We thought he was a mute for the first half of the summer. The area in general sucks, you HAVE TO DRIVE in order to do basic things, get some milk/juice/etc. And then to top it all off the complex is filled with international students from India and China. NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH!!!! This place: Bad Location, Unfriendly Atmosphere, Unsanitary Conditions.

I agree that the apartment may not be to your liking but so what if there are Indian and Chinese tenants??? So what if they can't speak English? I have encountered individuals from various countries at Highland Park. Some of my neighbors are quite friendly and aren't unsanitary people.
