"Trying" to Improve, but still crummy UPDATED 6/30/04
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 2/8/2004
Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
There is new management and for a while they seemed aggressive in renovating the place. They replaced the hallway carpets and painted the apartment doors and hallways. The paint jobs are poor at best. A lot of careless work is evident. This was done over 2 months ago and was never fully completed. There are no covers on the hallway outlets which I would imagine to be some sort of code violation.
The "on site" laundry facilities are a joke. And the "private storage" is a few rooms divided up with cheap fencing in the basement. Not the least bit private and THEY WERE ALL BROKEN INTO about 2 months ago. Management obviously did not care and never made any attempt to fix or replace the broken locks. They never even addressed it other than notifying us right after it happened via a letter.
There has been absolutely no significant work done here on renovations in about 2 months now. It looks terrible, half-completed shoddy work all over the place. They are aggressively renting out the vacant apartments and probably lying to all of the new tennants about the completion of the renovations. The class of tennants is getting worse by the day.
It seems they are more interested in renting the apartments than anything else. Apparently that is more important than finishing the renovations or screening new tennants. With the current state of the building being as it as and us having to live in a crummy looking "work in progress" building, they should give some sort of break on the rent until it is done. FAT CHANCE of that ever happening though.
Overall, I say STAY AWAY. It is overpriced, overhyped, just sucks.
