words cant express how awful this place is

Today is the happiest day of my life because I am turning my keys in and finally getting out of this dump called Hillsborough Gardens.

I don't even know where to begin. First of all, the apartments haven't been renovated since...ever. Every appliance in there is old, falling apart, barely working. Sadly, outdated and worthless appliances are the least offensive thing about this place.

I lived on the bottom floor which meant I was forced to listen to every moment of the 15 people living in the apartment above me - which is a 2 bedroom, by the way. They used my patio as their personal bicycle parking lot - despite me asking them, and management, several times to put an end to it. Finally, it did end. The 10 bicycles chained to my railing were replaced by piles of garbage, beer bottles - basically they just used the outside of my apartment as their garbage can. Disgusting, yes - but a health liability when they decided to pour buckets of bleach and ammonia off of their second floor balcony, onto my patio. i complained several times to management - to no avail.

Aside from the fact that I never felt safe in my own apartment and was kept up, night after night by noisy and inconsiderate neighbors - the place is just gross. There are bugs - silverfish mostly - so if you enjoy the prospect of squashing disgusting insects daily - then look no further, hillsborough gardens is for you.

Also, if you like being scalded in the shower every day - again, this place is the jackpot. I had management at my apartment every other week for two months, "fixing" the problem until the day finally came that i was burned badly enough and threatened to call a lawyer. A plumber was there in 20 minutes. The problem was never fixed completely - i just had to get used to it.

Long story short - i counted the days until my lease was up because i could not wait to get out of here. Its miserable and embarrasing to have company over. Its frustrating to bring valid complaints to management and be met with indifference and lies. Its disgusting to live in squalor. And its laughable that, a month ago, i got a letter saying that if i wished to renew my lease, my rent was going up.

I'd actually pay money NOT to live there.
