Awesome location, great price, but VERY thin walls, floors, and ceilings!

My husband and I lived here for 2 years. You can't beat the location... it is a great spot, and so convenient to the PATH and NJ Transit. We can't say enough about how great of a location it is! We did lots of research on apartments in Hoboken before moving... this is one of the best deals out there, honestly.

The apartments are in good shape, have gorgeous hardwood floors, and a nice open floor plan. The setup is nice, as the bedrooms are on opposite ends of the apartment (We had a 2 BR.) The apartments utilize space well - there really is not much wasted space at all, so although the square footages are on the smaller end, they make efficient use of space. The building is clean, and in 2 years we NEVER saw a roach or rodent, nor any other type of insect. The utility bills are low, especially in the winter... we rarely turned on the heat, and it was at least 72 degrees in our apartment. We RARELY had to wait to use the laundry room, and it is nice that each floor has its own laundry room. The parking garage is tight, but manageable, and a nice amenity right in the building.

Now for the cons... the place can use some updating, as the appliances and countertops in the kitchen and baths are not very new. That being said, they really don't look bad. They are neutral and clean. Management is a little difficult to deal with - they are NOT accommodating about ANYTHING.

And for the WORST problem we had while living there... NOISE! We suggest if you are going to live there, get a top floor apartment. Due to the hardwood floors and the lack of carpeting requirement, you can hear every footstep the neighbors above you make, especially if they wear shoes in the house. If they are clumsy, you will hear EVERY item they drop on the floor, no matter how small or light it is. And if your neighbors upstairs like to come home late at night, you will not be able to sleep without ear plugs. It got to the point where every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, we were woken up between 2 and 4 AM, which is when the people above us liked to come home after partying. We also heard the neighbors below us fairly often, but instead of footsteps and items dropping on the floor, we heard them yelling at the TV during football games, and just talking loud on occassion (a couple of guys lived there with deep loud voices.)

If you are sensitive to noise, do NOT move here! If you can handle noise from above you, and some noise from units next to you and below you, and you don't mind sleeping w/ earplugs, 101 Clinton really is a great place to live.
