i lived in a building on the UWS of manhattan (key west) and it was taken over by archstone- they are the absolutely worst building management company out there. they don't care about their residents. raise rents like people change underwear, never provide the whole truth on situations. they are just bad. if you like throwing your money away and getting headaches- archstone is for you. if you like to live normal- go somewhere else!
i was looking at this hudson park complex, but now that I know some more about the place. I am not going to waste my time. thank you

I live in a property in San Francisco that was purchased by Archstone. Everything you wrote is true. They literally destroyed a great downtown community. They don't care about the residents here, lie, and raised rents through the roof. What a horrible company and an overnight nightmare living experience.

You are not rating Archstone Hoboken and shouldn't be allowed to give a rating if you don't live there. I have experienced Archstone properties all over the country and they are extremely well run and are high end properties so you will pay for quality. They care for their residents and offer a 30 day move out policy if you are not happy. Archstone Hoboken is a great place to live and is very close to NYC. Anonymous, learn to spell manager before you make judgements on something don't know about. A real Archstone resident.

The person above is clearly an Archstone employee mentioning their 30 day move out policy. Unfortunately I happen to live at this property and can testify all complaints on this site with regards to Archstone are very accurate. The Hoboken property is going down hill and I am actively looking to move out. I have wasted time, money and happiness chosing this building. Thanks for nothing Archstone. Hope you people can look at yourself in the mirror and feel proud about yourself. I doubt any of you can.

I just moved out of Archstone Hoboken last night after having my rent raised by 10% and being told there was no room to negotiate as the local market was demanding 3-bd apartments like ours and they had no choice but to raise the rent to meet the demand. We offered to look at other apartments in the building but were shown several apartments that were also priced well over the market. They offered us a different unit and slightly inflated price and we tried to negotiate the price down, but to no avail.
Well, we moved out and found a GREAT apartment for MUCH less money in a better neighborhood. After 2 years of living in Archstone they threw us out like trash. The best part, they just updated their pricing on our old unit to $150 less than we were paying! STAY AWAY FROM ARCHSTONE, they are crooks.

Yikes, found this after my friend moved into an Archstone property in California. As I understand it, they upped their deposit demand after she had setup to move in. Then they raised her rent when she was moving in because the unit she was moving into wasn't ready, and when they got her another unit, they said it was so much "nicer" (same size, just different part of the building) that would have to pay more. She wasn't in a position to do much about it.
I was hoping these were all flukes... yikes.

We have lived in the Archstone Hoboken for almost 2 years and it has been nothing less than a nightmare. The management is totally unresponsive, dishonest, and lack any regard for landlord/tenant law. Many of our neighbors have recently moved out and are now paying almost 600-1000 less for apartments in the same area and the same size. Stay far, far away!!!
