The good:
- helpful and generally friendly door staff
- amenities (that are open so far) are nice
- views are great (I'm looking out my window and see the Hudson and mid-town)
- some of the fixtures are good quality
- location is very convenient.
The bad:
- heating units are inefficient, noisy, and expensive (i.e., it doesn't even heat a studio adequately)
- insulation is far from adequate, my unit is very drafty and I had to add insulation on my own
- painting was sloppy
- most fixtures not high quality (e.g., bathroom towel holder already fell off, bathroom cabinet already broke, kitchen (ikea') cabinets are cheaply made and installed badly)
- garage parking is expensive and no street parking possible (due to zoning, resident permits are not available)
- health club is four months late in opening and still a long way from completion (one of the reasons I took this apartment)
- the area north of the building is going to be a construction site for the next 10 years with four or five towers going up (goodbye good view!)
- just not a good value for the money overall

What did you do to add insulation, I just moved in and I need to figure out what I can do to avoid astronomical bills. If you could also list where you got supplied that would be of great help.
