This place is such a rip off. When I first moved in, the rent (at 1900 for a studio) was a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than Manhattan. However, that was when the economy was good. Now, you can find many better places for CHEAPER in Manhattan. I am glad I am moving out at the end of this month. Not only that, but they have the nerve to try to raise my rent for next year. No sir. I found a luxury apartment in the Financial District, that is nicer, has a pool, and a straight on view of the river for 1750. The apartments look above average at first, but once you move in you'll notice everything in and around is cheap. The walls are thin plaster board. Beware. In addition to all this, the management is very rude. Rather than treat you as a customer, they treat you like a prisoner. Try not to have anything go wrong within the apartment, or you will wait at least a month to get it fixed.

That is not true. I've had repair work completed in one day.
I'm not going to argue on the build quality though, it may not be the best but it's not all that bad. It's a rental building, and most rental buildings are like that - things can be easily replaced if broken.
