Dixon Mills

I've been living in Dixon Mills for one year with my boyfriend and my big pooch. We have a 1 bedroom duplex - great space, decently priced for the area, wonderfully animal friendly complex, and the apt is in fine condition. No, the management is not that great and it's not that bad either. It's easier to be nice to management and when a maintenance problem arises stay on them (b/c requests are apparently not dealt with too quickly). As long as I make it known that I have something that needs to get fixed and I am reasonable with them, I have had fine results. In two emergency situations, service guys have responded immediately to me - once I was locked inside my own apt b/c the doorknob was strangely jammed and someone came to help me literally within 5 minutes...second emergency was when i found a mouse (ahhh gross) under the sink and again, a service guy was there in 5 minutes covering the mouse hole, installing a mouse trap, and doing whatever he could to help.
As I've read some bad reviews regarding Dixon Mills, I feel that these guys are expecting way too much of an average apt complex in Jersey City with your average staff running the show (come on it ain't Beverly Hills we're livin in). No the staff is not that professional all the time, but come on have you ever heard of a superb apt complex manager that dazzles tenants with their graciousness and their extraoridinary people skills - in Jersey City?
