Do NOT rent at Dixon Mills...

Seriously, husband and I did not believe all the reviews citing bad management. However, about 3 months ago we started having a major leak in our living room roof... the water damaged some furniture and the carpet. We notified immediately maintenance.. No one ever showed up. We kept calling and we started writing letters for over two months before someone finally showed up to take a look at the problem. We have also had a leak in a closet. Has this been fixed' Of course not. So now we are in the management company's bullseye... they "lost" our check and sued us for nonpayment. Thankfully, we obtained proof that the check had been deposited by Dixon Mills. We faxed the information to the mgmt co., its attorney and the court. The mgmt co told us it would be dismissed. Instead, we found ourselves with a warrant for removal. We have found out we are not the only people to whom stuff like this has happened. Apparently, if you have an issue in your apartment and you bring it to the attention of management, they will classify you as a problem tenant and will do everything in their power to have you move out. Too bad, because we love our apartment, our neighbors and the ability to have pets.
