I lived here in a top floor duplex for two years and despite the leaking roof and the mice at the end of the second year, overall it was a great apartment with a spacious and unique layout. Yes the neighborhood can be a little sketchy, but this is Jersey City after all and you do need to use common sense, but I personally never had any security problems. I have lived in many apartments and there is no perfect situation and pretty much all supers suck and are lazy and need to be asked to do things at least twice.
