My wife and I lived in Dixon Mills for over 6 years. Same apartment in the A building.
4th floor with a deck. Spiral stair case to the loft. Big, roomy and not a box. Kitchen was small but workable. In seven years we had very few problems. Once you make friends with the staff it will be okay.
Down side? Dogs...the place loves dogs. It is not the dogs but the nitwit owners. They dont clean up after them and the run loose most of the time. What a pain!
The other thing is that some buildings are better than others. A building was fine for us. Dont know about others.
We had a car for a few years too and had not problem with break-ins. Never heard of any either.
The neigborhood is fine but dirty. Scum lives up the street and do not care. Just try and be home by 2am or take a cab. Not a big deal
