Been here almost six months (New to JC from NYC) and overall, am pleased with my apartment, the building and the surrounding neighborhood. The management, security and maintenance staff are professional, attentive and pleasant. The building is well maintained and the facilities are excellent. Just a couple of examples: 2-3 months ago, the carpeting in the lobby, which was a light color and looking worse for wear, was replaced and over the past week, the gardens in front of the building have been very nicely landscaped. There's also a large, well equipped gym on the eighth floor (nice not to be in a basement!).
The building's designed so that most apartments have great views and there are a variety of floorplans, none of which are typical high rise apartment cookie cutter "boxes." My apartment has needed a couple of minor repairs (for example, the blinds on one of the windows wasn't operating properly), which were fixed within a 1-2 days after informing the office.
The building's in a newly developed area which abuts an historic brownstone neighborhood that has some nice restaurants and stores so you can get a decent meal and the basics without driving or making a trip into the city. A market is scheduled to open in the building's retail space on the street level in a few weeks. Ferries and Path are convenient (four block walk to the former and two to the latter which arrive and depart from a brand new ferry terminal). There's also a light rail line which stops just behind the building, so a car is not a necessity. Liberty State Park and the waterfront are also easily accessible on foot - a nice plus now that the warm weather is here.
