The Manhattan and harbor views are amazing! Our view of midtown is out of this world. But the building is not a true luxury building. Take it from someone that lived in a NYC luxury building (Madison Belvedere) for 4 years.
Negatives: - The doormen do not open the doors, ok maybe once every 15 times I walk through the front doors they open it for me. The rest of the time they are standing around chatting. - They never stop any of my friends when they enter. Good thing they are not criminals. No one ever got by the doormen at the Madison Belvedere. - Maintenence men will clean the elevators while you are in them. They should stop cleaning when a resident is riding in an elevator. - The employees talk trash about other employees and residence right in front of me. - Management always passes the buck. - Friends in the building have had problems with flooding and drafts in their windows and heating-A/C units. Lucky for us we have not had these problems - They cut corners in the construction. Fixtures, surfaces, materials, quality of carpentry etc. - The walls are paper thin. We had to have a sound wall installed to help with the noise. - You have to park in the parking garage (again terrible service) because the building is not zoned for street permit parking. - Staff from the top to the bottom is not professional. I guess I was spoiled by NYC doormen.
Pluses: - The views - The fitness center - The location
I would not recommend this building to my friends.
