Nice Place to Live

Moved into the West Tower just after its completion in 2003. 95% of my experience has been positive. Compared to what I paid in Brooklyn Heights, this is a bargain. I have a lot more square footage and pay $600 a month less rent than I used to; $150 vs $350 per month to park; elimination of NYC income tax (3-4%') cheaper gas; great highway access. The availability of transportation to NY by ferry (across the street) or the PATH (a few blocks away) is another plus. Wall Street is a seven minute ferry ride; the PATH is 5 minutes to WTC site.
As far as the building itself, my view is spectacular (Statue of Liberty; NYC skyline.) If I had it to do over again, I'd "can" the NY views and opt for a harbor view because it is unobstructed and it's great to watch the boats on the Hudson. A terrace for my wife and I was a "must."
The only negative is the building hires low-paid, non-union staff with predictable results (less than adequate security and repeat visits by maintenance staff for difficult problems.)
With its gym, swimming pool, in-house valet, Valley National Bank and drugstore and deli in the building, you can't go wrong.
