Well, I'm from Texas so my view might be a little different than someone elses. I'm used to a lot bigger space than what I have here.

First off, I think that the management and the staff are excellent. I have always been treated fairly, and everyone has been extremely helpful. I was particularly impressed with the "no-b.s." approach of our leasing agent - she didn't overpromise and everything she told us was dead on about the place. When I moved in they even gave me a checklist on what I need to do to get all the electricity and gas turned on and how to get cable set up.

The rooms themselves are nice but very small. They llok great, nice wood, granite countertops, etc. The layout of the rooms are a big problem for me - they are very boxy and lack artistry. The layout is a little difficult to work with as well - I had to fool around a lot with furniture to make the place look good. Bathrooms are okay, toilet were a little small and the showers could be nicer. I'm on the 33rd floor on the east tower, and the water pressure could be better. However, no problem with hot water like some of the other posters mentioned - if anything, it gets too hot when you turn it all the way.

The amenities in the rooms could use some work. My microwave didn't have a turntable inside it for some reason when I got here. The rooms are definately underpowered when it comes to heating (I've only been here a week so I don't know about cooling). The walls are glass and the cold seeps in prettty quickly. I countertop burners are cheap looking electric deals that never babalce properly and are very annoying. Fridges are very annoying as well - can't get milk and other tall items in except for in a corner on the second shelf. Also, my wood is scratched and repaired in a number of places. The washer/dryer combo sucks, in my opinion. Everything gets massively linty irrespective of what you do.

View is great. Anyone who looks out of one of those floor to ceiling windows with the NY skiyline is hooked. That was the clincher for me. Wow.

Onsite amenities are great if overpriced. Nail salon downstairs if you're into that sort of thing. Onsite pharmacy open from 8 am to 9 pm that sells organic groceries and what not. Very expensive. Essex station is literally right behind the building. Can't beat that.

The only problem that I have really had that has made me question staying here was something that happened to me on one of the light rail stations. A gang of like 10 kids started yelling and cursing at me and actaully hurled rocks at me. I ignored them but I was really pissed off. Everyone in NYC and NJ has been great so far - I have yet to meet the stereotypical rude New Yorker, and then these -------- ruin it for me. Anyways, I don't feel completely safe here anymore in the evenings outside, and that's a crappy way to feel. However, that not a Liberty Towers issue, its more of a New Jersey issue. I don't know if there is a better place in this general area to stay, but if there was, I would move just for the safety factor.

Don't get me wrong - the pluses of this palce outweigh the minuses. The building is great, it looks nice, the staff is helpful and always accomodating. The rooms are well maintained if small, and no one has turned off the gas or electricity for any reason.

Hi - Could you comment on the noise from the construction across the street? I will have an infant in the apartment if I go for Liberty Towers and am wondering how noisy it will be during the day. Many thanks! Vic

The construction is very noisy however I have learnt to sleep with the noise. I work nights so I'm sleeping when the construction begins each morning. You infant should be able to adapt much quicker than adults. Your infant should eventually learn to sleep through your use of the washer and dryer, as well as vacuuming.
