The rent here is RIDICULOUSLY HIGH, It's higher than the darn height of these 2 towers.
For the manhattan priced rent- here's what you'll get:
1) Pay rent for each animal.
2) Pay additional $150 for non reserved parking space in the building)
3) Poor insulation- I froze all the time. The windows allow wind to enter even when shut.
4)Small toilet and bath- pray that you don't forget the door unlocked while you're on the throne cause if someone rushes in the door will hit you and knock you out.
5) Teeny tiny apartment space. I think doll sized people should be living there not regular sized people. The walls are very very thin, we put a picture up and it lasted 4 days before it tore through the wall and fell to the floor. It was NOT a heavey picture frame...It was a poster in a poster frame. It was light.
5) The apartment is not cut straight- ours was sort of in between a rectangular shape and a diamond shape so It was a horror to arrange the furniture.
6) Tiny kitchen- not many storage cupboards.
7) Huge electricity bills because of their poor insulation.
8) You need to pay a fee to use the pool and gym etc. ( it's a one time fee but it's a damn expensive fee)
9) The security guards are great guys but a little too friendly with non residents such that I was at the gym around 10pm when hardly anyone is there and about 7 or 8 ------- american teenagers entered- switched on ALL the treadmills, turned up the volume on ALL the tv's and were yelling and calling each other the N word.
I felt very uncomfortable. I realize that one of the teenagers lived in the terrace apt across the street and used her 'key' to allow all her friends to enter.
Another night I was sitting in lounge room which is in the middle of the entrance and the gym and again they came in approx 11 pm and about 3 of the boys were banging on the door and laughing and making faces, one had his legs spread wide and was thrusting his hips on the glass door ( in a sexual movement) while they waited for the girl to key them in. I was SCARED. The security guard was in the computer room right there and heard the noise and did nothing.
Another security guard lets a drunk man in to have a cup of coffee and left the man there alone with me- I was SCARED cause he started harrassing me. I even went out and bought pepper spray the next day just in case.
With all this we had a 2 year lease and paid the penalty to cut it short because we couldn't take living there anymore.
10) You have to pay insurance.
11) They use EVERY opportunity to rip a hole in your pocket.
12) You can hear your neighbors through the paper thin walls...
Here's a story: Our last neighbors who moved out a few months before us... we heard the guy YELLING in desperation saying..." I am at the end of my rope, I cannot take it anymore, this place is too expensive, it's too fuc%^*g expensive, there's no space in this ----- I am going crazy"... then at the end of that month they were gone.
So there's always a positive, that's my view on live...so let me try HARD to think of a few:
1) Nice view.
2) Friendly security guards- they open the doors for you and always greet you- they even know your names. They are great guys.
3) Mail is delivered to your building though not efficiently cause we always received mails for other tenants delivered to our box in error.
4) You can mail your stuff from the outbox area in the building too.
5) Pets are allowed ( although at a fine)
6)Close to PATH train.
7) There's a gym on site, there's a lounge room, a game room and a computer room with SUPER SLOW internet.
8) The common areas are clean and bug free.
9) Garbage disposal on every floor.
10) Easy to move into and out of the apartment... they have a loading dock where you park the moving truck and they will assign an elevator to you so that you can unpack all your stuff and load into this spacious elevator then just unload at your floor...they lock the elevator so ONLY YOU can access it)...
In all these are the positives and negatives, however, overall I am sorry but I do NOT recommend this place. I am being very very honest here.... you'll regret it.
