Lincoln Apartments requires a one-month-and-a-half security deposit. For a 2 BR that would usually mean close to $3,000. While your lease agreement does not make any mention of regulations for smokers, and the only regulation that's visible is the one forbidding smoking in common areas, when you move all of a sudden smoking becomes an issue. Management takes away 25% of your deposit under the pretext of "nicotine stains" and need for special paint -all of which, of course, is a lot of bull.
Beware, above all, of a gentleman named Fermin Garcia, who will hide from you and even from the law in order to retain a large part of your deposit unlawfully. Workers in the building despise him.
They also garnish your deposit on all sorts of other pretexts. So many, they have ceased to answer Better Business Bureau's inquiries and now they have a dismal record with them.
The staff is friendly but overworked. The company drives them like slaves, so they are usually slow to respond to requests.
I would not recomend anyone to do business with this Lefrak company. IMHO, they are just a bunch of thieves and extortionists.
