The best apartments I've lived in

Marbella is, for sure, the best apartment I've lived in - and I've lived in apartments around the New York area for over 10 years now.
Is it perfect' Probably not, otherwise no one would rent anywhere else.
Starting with the negatives: the leasing office staff maintain a high nose, and talking to them often feels like waiting on the Gods - you are a puny human, and they are honoring you by giving you a rental. Prices were on the high side.
That's about it.
Now for the positives - here's a list, since there's quite a lot, specially after moving out of here several years back and comparing my present stays with it:
- loved the 15 minute commute to the City, plus the bus in the mornings to drop you to Path
- BJs and Shoprite were across the road, as was the light rail, making it very convenient to live without a car. ZipCar rentals were close, and Avis is next door.
- The lobby and entrance areas were clean and looked prestigious, even the mailroom was kept litter free
- security staff were friendly and polite,
- facilities like a game room and a TV room were great.
- It felt good to be in a nice doorman-lobby building - far better than the ugly pigeon holes that money was fetching us in Manhattan.
- Maintenance service was great - issues we had with the garbage disposal were resolved in a day or two
Now, for things we loved inside the apartment:
- rent included (in '05) internet, gym, swimming pool, DirecTV
- wall jacks included voice / data / video access from any room
- laundry in the apartment
- huge windows in the apartment made it very sunny and airy
- nice kitchen - powerful microwave, nice countertops, shiny and new surfaces - plus garbage disposal - something I rarely saw elsewhere
- nice hardwood floors - much easier to keep clean than carpets
- surround speakers built into the wall - though we never got around to using them
As a summary, the price we paid here has been unmatched - I pay a much cheaper rent now out in Long Island, but with the car, the LIRR monthly cost, cable TV, internet, gym (even out in the Island - City gyms are more expensive) - the total cost comes to much higher than what I was paying in Marbella.
Plus, I really liked having friends and family over at Marbella - felt good.
Didn't need a car, but when we rented, we parked on the nightly basis.
Sorry if my review appears biased - feel free to call or email me, I'll stand by my review.

Worst Apartment Ever!
This is a candid feedback, from a truthful person who has never engaged in any activity that will harm, defame any person or entity as such. However, I could not just keep mum on the treatment that being imparted by Marbella apartment (425 Washington Blvd Jersey City 07310) to its teneants/residents.
#1 You get too little service, in return of the humongous monthly rent you might end up paying @ the Marbella. Most of the luxury amenities are 'NAMESAKE' (I hope u got the point) Had to follow up for 3-4 months with the management to FIX the Movie Theater - Over head projector...Poor service..
Swimming Pool - You are better off swimming in the neighbouring Hudson River (Even Water in Hudson will be cleaner as compared to what you get in Marbella swimming pool) I just swamp once and was down with serious flu, cold & fever..
#2 Door man ABDUL - (I wish I could report this to Jersey City Police Dept before I write this review)
Worst Person to fit in the job of a Doormen, ABSOULUTELY IGNORANT, EMOTIONLESS, AND PATHETIC ANIMAL that you have to face every time you get in / get out of the Marbella building. (Beware!!!)
Abdul, thinks he is the sole owner of the property & all the the tenants are his Servants (I bet my life if someone proves me wrong)...He'll stare at you & females accompanying you all the time. Not from security perspective of course...
Totaly F%#$#D up person who bullies tenants at his own will, will try and be PAIN IN THE REAR END as much as he can...and the most important thing is that the Building Management is OBLIVIOUS at his behavior..
Manager - Kevin & George, assistant staff is helpless before this moron (Abdul)..so much that he runs behind the tenants abusing them with words such as 'MotherF*$R' and the building management just enjoys the show.
(If anyone reading this review is apprehended, then excuse me. All I'm doing is making the experience clear)
What you should expect when you invest your Hard earned money on this place (Marbella) which is totally Unfit to live...Unless they get rid of Abdul...the Doorman
I can warn you...Decision is still with yours. whether you want to RISK your earnings and peace of mind by renting a place in Marbella, where the Doormen (Abdul) is waiting to piss you off, and become the biggest pain in your rear end...Don't believe this review...Go and ask who is Abdul @ Marbella
