We have lived at the Marin for a year and have decided to move out. We love our apartment, nice kitchen and nice bathroom with many amenities. The building is just in a bad location. Physically, it is right on a main road going into Hoboken, so is very busy and is difficult just crossing the street. The street is dirty in front of the building, as well as all the way along Observer Hwy to the Hoboken PATH. Street parking is always available, but having just had our vehicle almost stolen out front, we are now paying for outdoor parking in the back of the building, but it is expensive. I really don't feel too much safer having it parked out back though, as there have been a few cars broken into even there. The cable and internet situation is a mess. With the building where it is, neither Comcast nor Cablevision will wire the building. The building does have cable, but is from a 3rd rate provider. You can get a Dish, but it would only work if you live in the back of the building. They advertise High-Speed Internet access, but the service is wireless and it was never setup properly, so it doesn't work well, and that is an understatement. You can't even get DSL in the building because of the location. The Staff is nice and usually helpful, although I think we are on are 5th building manager in a year, so that could tell the story right there. If the building was in the middle of Hoboken, most of these issues wouldn?t exist. The area might get better in the next few years, but we won?t be around to find out.
