Pretty Good

I would recommend this place. Some people expect the whole world... What they don't realize is everything is not always perfect.
My complaints would be that the gym was down for a couple of weeks because of a leak. I have friends who live at Portofino, though, who's parking garage partially fell down because of a leak. The winter was a cold one... stuff happens. The Pier took care of the problems right away. It was a process, but it is now finished and as beautiful as before.
I've also had in issue with paying my rent. Because I was late, they hit me with a huge fee. It was my fault, but I wish it could have been waived.
Other than that, I would definitely recommend The Pier. Besides the views and convienence to transportation, my apartment is wonderful.
The kitchens are the best kitchens around.
Also, most of the newer buildings have those units in the walls for air and heat. This place has CENTRAL AIR and GAS HEAT. I've lived with electric before, and it sucks. This is MUCH better!
Although some other buildings have more ammenities, The Pier waived our amenity fee... I get what I actually use (gym and business center) but never had to pay for it. They have a nice conference room and clubhouse which I've never had to use, but it's there if I need it.
Anyway, nothing is perfect. For anyone reading this review, just know that The Pier is one of the nicest places I've ever lived in this area. After living in NYC for 2 years and then other buildings in Jersey City, I'm very happy.
