I Would Recommend It...

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
The only complaints I would have are these:
1) During January, there was a pipe break because of the cold weather which temporarilly closed down the gym. From what I hear, though, this winter was one of the coldest in many years and the same things happened in many other buildings.
2) If you have a pet, you can't get it past the management. They allow pets, but make you pay a $500 pet fee (normal for other places, too, but still unfair). They found out we had one and stuck us with a bill.
Other than that, The Pier is a nice place to live.
Despite the easy convienence to transportation and the views, the apartments are very, very nice.
I've never had a kitchen with such beautiful counter tops and appliances!
Also, I love the CENTRAL AIR and GAS HEAT! Most of the newer buildings I've looked at have electric units in the walls. This is central and is sooooo much better... more effective and less expensive.
Nothing is perfect, but when you think about what actually matters, this is definitely a place that has met my expectations.
I like having a concierge and the dry cleaning service makes things a lot easier than finding time go to to the store before it closes.
