The Pier is new building with a great view of the city. If you come see the apartments, the leasing agent will probably bring you up to the roof and show the panoramic view of the manhattan skyline. But other than the view, there's not much going for this place.

Most of the residents I've met in the building will leave as soon as their lease ends. There has been many complaints about the hot water, heating, poor caftsmanship, and of course the big flood we had in January.

The reason I'm not renewing my lease is because the neighborhood is absolutely lifeless. The area has no character and no sense of community. For example, there's no where to go for coffee on the weekends, and there are no restaurants nearby. If you want to do anything, you'll have to go to the Newport/Pavonia area or into the city.

Unfortunately, I can't recommend the Pier.
