Not a good deal as it appears...

I am disappointed of what this place offers compared to how management had presented amenities, etc. when we first stepped foot at this place. The only things I truly appreciate at the Pier, are the views, kitchen finishings & appliances, and partially the fitness center. I say "partially" because it is guaranteed that you won't find a popular cardio machine like an elliptical/cross-trainer if you go between 4-8:30 pm. during the week.
Here are the disappointing things:
There are practically no amenities. The business center is a joke. There are only 2 computers for 250 apts. in the building, and one of them is almost always out due to a repair being made. When such repairs are made, it usually takes several weeks, and management is always on the defensive side, stating how a resident broke it, etc. so that justifies why the remaining residents should wait weeks before it is operational again. That leaves you with 1 full-time computer, which has very limited memory due to everybody using one single computer, and thanks to pop-ups and the slowness of the machine, you cannot get anything done.
The other thing that I find extremely frustrating, is the parking situation. Yes, it is nice to have an indoor garage for a fee relatively lower compared to Manhattan, but for those of us owning SUVs, forget about finding a decent sized parking space if you come back to your apt. after 8 pm! Most spaces are so tiny that it amazes you how they were designated as a legitimate parking space to start with. Again, Management approaches it with a defensive attitude, saying that if you "adjust your vehicle after 2-3 maneuvers,it will fit". Sure it fits - if you're ok opening your door into a column right next to you, or ok with being one foot away from another car door and fearing damage to your car's door.
When we moved into this "luxury" building expecting great amenities, a project for an outdoor swimming pool was mentioned to us by Management. 4 months later when the Summer came and we asked about the status, we were told that it probably won't happen. Upon expressing our disappointment (cause with a similar amount of rent, you actually get access to swimming pool, tennis courts, and all the other same amenities at some other communities), we were told by Management that "the swimming pool was never guaranteed when you entered into your lease". For the type of image they are trying to create for this building, they lack at doing it right and providing a decent service. Overall I think, it is overpriced given the lack of amenities, and the only things that make it worth, is the location & the view.
