good place to live...too expensive

we've been living at the Pier for 14 months and our experience has been OK.
it's definately too expensive for the what it is. there are not enough amenties for. all the other communities in the area have swimming pools. the gym however is really nice, but gets really crowded.
the club room is great, but ridiculously expensive to rent out for a private event. It should be free, since you pay an amenties fee at the beginning of your lease term.
the maintence is bad. they are slow, and take their sweet time to get anything fixed.
the management other than that is ok, but ineffective in trying to solve any problems.
the walls are paper thing. we have neighbors with nosiy kids who wake us up all the time. management has done little to resolve this issue, despite numerous complaints. they keep asking for a 'written letter' for any complaint, that results back with a letter for management, but nothing happens to resolve the problem.
overall, the pier is a nice building, but overpriced. if you want a great nyc view, then the pier is great for that..and only that.
