I moved out in 2006 and had been at The Pier Apartments for 2 years. When we first moved in they were o.k. but very quickly they have proven to fall short! Maintenance service is falling and is a major lack thereof. You put in a request for something about your apartment and you hardly ever hear back, and if you do, the maintenance staff don't know what they're doing and don't quite get the job done. There is a front desk, but it is by no means security. We had many people come over and comment on how easy it is to enter our building and get upstairs to the units. The workout room is adequate at best. Great view, but small, and the machines are breaking down, and management has not attended to it. Parking is covered but not enclosed,and the spots are too small so everyone crosses the parking lines, leaving it difficult to find a space conveniently. The walls are thin! From my bedroom we used to be able to hear our neighbors down to conversation, yelling, phone, alarms, closing of dresser drawers and starting of the shower every morning. Everyone is moving out because the prices are skyrocketing, but their quality and services are staying the same. And when you move out, they charge you up the wah-zoo and make unfair claims and want thousands from your pocket--take it from me! The only pros I can say is that you are on the water, the closets are huge, and it is a quiet neighborhood. But if you are looking in that neighborhood you will soon learn that there are many options very close by and along the water. The Pier tries to be a luxury building, but just can't hack it!!
