The building is build very cheep so I always have problems with cloged bathtop and mean menegment. During the summer pool is always dirty and lifeguards cosing problems for residents. One time we had a huge fight in the pool that some people were in hospital with ingeries. Aplienses are old and everything keeps braking and super doesn't want to do enything becouse the building coverted to condoes. No avelable parking on top of that garage space has no security and dogs ---- all over the place. Fier allarm goes off two times a week and sometimes at night too. I've leved here for one year and hate it from the first week i moved in. I can't wait to move out.
If you loking for your new home I would suggest you to look somewhere else.

The pool fight was a completely isolated incident and I feel it would be disengenious to make a judgement on that one event. The tenants all took appropriate action with the board who appropriately addressed the issue with the particular tenant whose GUEST had caused the problem. For those that purchase a condo, 98% of the time you will have the option of a parking space. There are also security cameras in the garage with a night guard; not sure what else they could do to make it secure....my wife and I feel completely safe. The last time I heard any kind of fire alarm go off was about a year ago and the staff and tenants handled it very well. I feel safer knowing that in an emergency (1) the alarms do work and (2) the tenants seem to be cooperative. It seems you have had a negative experience, which in my 4 years of living here has not been consistent with my neighbors.

This is a bizarre negative review with almost no truth to it 1. The pool is always clean and there are always lifeguards on duty during the posted hours. 2. (I don't know anything about the pool fight since I was not living here at the time) 3. The appliances DO suck. The problem is not that they are old, the problem is that they were crap quality to begin with. They are small and do not do the job as intended. I almost can't believe such a new building has such terrible appliances. That said, you're not paying "extra" for nice appliances and you see what you're getting right away. Also Sam is very good about being available within 24 hours for breakdowns. 3. The parking garage does have security. It's everywhere. 4. The fire alarm has gone off once in the past 6 months. It was a test, which I believe they are required to do every six months. Maybe someone on that guy's floor is a REALLY terrible cook?

I am posting this in Aug 2010. I have been associated with this building for a while now - the pool is clean when you look at it from a distance. It cannot be clean because of the number of people using it at any given time. I stayed home one day from work to enjoy the premises. Even on a weekday afternoon there are people around the pool. It is just that type of a community - they want to enjoy everything that is free. Portofino has a concentration of such people.
