Construction in this place is just plain shoddy, and management and maintainence staffs are useless. There is a apparently insufficient capacity in the drainage pipes, because my kitchen sink regularly overflows with sewage backing up from them. Management won't do anything about it. Construction inside the apartment is pathetic. Their is a big window in my bedroom that is not fitted properly into the wall, so there are constant drafts of cold air blowing through; it's basically like having a window open all winter. The balcony doors are even worse. If you move here do not under any circumstances accept an apartment with a balcony. You will suffer badly for it in the winter. The east tower seems to be in much worse physical shape than the west. The hallways in the east tower for one are not heated at all. I've measured the temperature in the hallway outside my apartment in the low 50's this week. This does not seem to be a problem in the west tower. Main positives are the gym is very nice, the area is generally quiet (though there are some problems with the typical Jersey City ghetto trash sometimes hanging around the park in the summer, but you can get the police to chase them off pretty easily), and commute to the Exchange Place PATH is convenient.
