I've lived in Portside for just under a year. What the previous poster said is true, there was a homicide in the building a couple months ago. Management stuck notices under all of our doors on the day the murder was discovered, which I appreciated, however they never followed through on the promise to keep us updated. I learned from a newspaper that the victim (a tenant) was shot in the head in his apt at approximately 3:00pm on a weekday. This is scary considering that there are 24/7 doormen and cameras at all the entrances. The neighbors I've met all seem very nice, however several weeks ago there was a LOUD fight in my hallway at approximately 11:30pm. There is no intercom to call down to the doorman. Someone eventually called the police and they broke it up. I love my apartment and the views, but I don't feel as safe as I thought I would when I moved in.
