noisy

If you come here on the weekend, it look great, however, come during the week. Right now, it's 8:11am on thursday and I was woken up (i work from home) by very loud jack hammer and industrial blower noises. They are resurfacing the garage b/c it's defective and slick surface is causing cars to slide when it rains. So all week long, you hear nothing but very loud drilling. The noise's volume is increased b/c of the echo in the garage and it bounces between the 2 towers (so you hear it clearly in any apt facing the water). Now I know why they put a provision in the lease to not be able to back out due to construction!!!
On the bright side, the apts are spacious and have a rather cheap but usually functional washer/drier. The appliances are all getting old and they have not modernized it to keep up w/the newer but cheaper buildings in the area.
Rent renewal rates are awful - they will attempt to increase by 200-400 per month (yes 400, I kid you not). You can go down and "negotiate" it lower but you will not be able to avoid an increase by at least 150-200/month. I find this insane in today's market. They are clearly losing business as all my friendly neighbors have left in the last 2 years.
I would save my money and get more sleep at another location. I will be looking to leave asap, and think it's worth losing my 2500$ deposit.
