As an owner at 10 Huron, I've seen the best of times, and the worst of time. Most lately, the worst. Ever since the reigns have been turned over to Kilby junior, it's obvious that Juniors not ready to lead.He's a follower, not a leader. For the most part, the staff is really good, except for this one cancer employee that is the sore spot for the building. The doormasn Rick.The most arrogant, self centered, worthless, arrogant employee,I've seen employed at this building. We've had great employee's,
who were let go for frivolous stuff. But yet we manage to keep an employee, who disrespects the female occupants, with lewd remarks,dosen"t help any tenant,works the package room and actually sleeps in the package room and "GETS PAID" for it, evening breaks when. Boasts that he's untouchable because he has the backing of management and the board.I believe they refer to him as
"managements personal rat" This guy takes the cake as far as a crap employee. And since he's "The doorman" You can't avoid not seeing this ingsegnificaqnt human. It would be nice if managment could get a rat thaT wouldn't be at the door.

You can't compare 60 year old buildings to the complexes down at newport.

I had to get rid of my sofas and bedding. ant it was proven that it was from a nieghbor, and it affected quite a few units.
Maintenance is high and if you want to use the pool, the gym or park your car, these are all additional charges. If you add these additional amenaties to the maintenance, you can easaly add a $1000 to your morgtage.
I will agree that the doormen are awsome. Bot management treats them like crap. I don't know if anyone realizes that the doormen work 8 hours and don't get a break!. As far as security. 1 gaurd for three buildings,is not very safe. There already has been car vandalism, including vandalism, to the board president of 10 Hurons car. And so far this year, a few people have been attacked.

I never had problem for past 5 years.. management seems to be OK, you will not find perfection anywhere.. at least they are in the building to respond fast. I will recommend to my friends and loved one. Building is safe, close to path and priced Ok, compare others at Canco or any building at Newport you will find St Johns Condominium to be the best!

It must depend where you live in the building because I too have lived here for 5 years and I have NOT had a serious rodent problem at all of ANY kind! And, I am pretty hard to please.
As far as construction it is one of the best buildings here in Jersey City. With the occasional slip of something that falls to the floor from upstairs the apartments are dead quiet and I almost never hear my neighbors. Management isn't bad at all. They keep the grounds looking good and protected considering the location of the buildings. I have never once felt unsafe here at any time of the day. Even when things breakdown they are quick to keep you informed and get the problem fixed fast! No building is perfect but St. Johns would give any new or existing development a run for the money...EASILY! Doormen are always respectful and polite. Maintenance is high but you're getting a pool, gym, well maintained gardens, a pond, playground, rock garden and parking. Condo living is expensive.... period.

Management here sucks big time. You have to wait for months to get any problem fixed. The response time is non-deterministic!
- Rodents - yes, Solution - None!
- Car Vandalism and theft - yes, Solution - None!
I received the clicker to gym almost 2 months after I paid for it! Management is far from perfection. Probably they don't even understand the meaning of the term "Management"! Probably, they think it means "mis-management".

this post comes up time and again, with the same comments against the apartment complex.
a very simple thought: 10 huron is old and 201 is much newer. Visit any one of 201 apartments and see the difference.
I have friends at 10huron with nice NY view and clean apartment.
Judging the distance to manhattan, indian market, path and the rent, this place is perfect in all standards.
