terrible From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 3/17/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   Terrible just terrible! Don't let the well treated area and modern looking buildings fool you folks! The management office that is located on the premises has some of the rudest, most incompetant people you'l ever find. I have had a very bad experience with the management, including an awful arguement with one of the staff. The walls in the apartment are paper thin and you could hear your neighbors talk and dogs bark, the windows cannot open so you sufficate inside your home during the summers ( unless you turn on the ac but be prepared to cash in) but are also very poorly made so cold air can come in during winters. they are also very noisy sometimes. those windows are also never cleaned from the outside, which made me question why i was paying so much for the view. Because of the asian dominance you can sense the smell of fish and curry throughout the building. There are insects and vermin everywhere and on one occasion I even had a very scary encounter with a rat! yes a rat! what happened to luxury' The internet reception and cable providors are just awful. Parking is alright but very expensive also. The only good things about that place is that it's close to the shooping mall and the doormen who are very nice and polite. I lived there for one year and as soon as my lease was up I ran out and never looked back. There are very nice areas in jersey city and hoboken that are cheaper and have better quality then the newport towers. Unless you like spending your hard earned money to live in filth with vermins and deal with rude management and poor constructed apartments whatever you do DO NOT! come to newport towers because you will regret it.
