After living in the Dudley St building for around 9 months, I'll be notifying the mgmt on Friday that we're moving out when our lease expires.

Some of our issues:

* Fire - still haven't had an official statement of why it happened; and when we've asked we're given the standard line: investigators still haven't determined.

* Security - in addition to having my car burgled and vandalised shortly after moving in, we have noticed that doors are frequently left propped open by maintenance or repair people.

* Incompetent Mgmt - we've frequently had issues with with the leasing office misplacing packages and when we moved in, our lease had to be revised a half dozen times.

* Poor value for money - we didn't do a good job shopping around before moving into the area (job pressure to be there yesterday). Given the shoddy construction and poorly thoughtout design (no linen closet in a 2 bedroom apt'), I'm confident that we can find a better apt at a considerably lower rent.

* Don't Like JC - frankly, we just don't like Jersey City. We gave it a fair trial period. Part of it is because it's NJ (Don't get me started on how much I now hate NJ. Just the subject of Auto Insurance gets me going for hours.) but the fact that the neighborhood lacks simple ammenities like a variety of restaurants, shops that aren't in a mall, or a library.

On the positive side, because we hate the "Ghetto Grocery" (Shoprite) we frequent the two convenience stores in the area, which are both very good.

In short, I won't miss living in JC or at the Liberty House.
