2 years since move-out; still feel like a sucker!

2 years since move-out and still bitter enough to bother posting! Extremely disappointing. The place was slapped together fast with cheap materials - thin walls, there were still leftover bent loose nails and paint drips on the microscopic little deck/sunporch, bad insulation, dishwasher leaked, cabinets were crooked, cheap blinds and carpet. Worst was being ripped off at every turn. The prorated rent for the first few days included charges for a fireplace (but we didn't have one!); they promised a credit but never gave it. Charged for lots of miscellaneous stuff, including specific utilities, in violation of contract. At signing, I questioned some of the items in fiance's lease and was told that since I wasn't signing, I had no right to ask; I corrected them - I'm a lawyer and the contract specifically allowed an attorney's review. Just incessant crazy argumentative petty cheapskate things over and over, to the point that you just don't feel at home. Nice gym, though it's in the one building and not so convenient from the other side -- must go outdoors. Garage door was often wide open, and the design for how to drive in and out and scan your card was off -- hard to do without getting out of the car. Computer lab not reliable and never staffed. At move-out, was asked to pay to replace all carpet, even though meticulous -- never wore shoes inside, no kids, no pets -- just flattened pile because it was cheapy. Front desk lost a FedEx package delivering a cell phone -- hm!!! Look elsewhere and you'll have a more relaxing home life. odusyNYCcZ7yL3Bj5JtG
