Hillside Review - Good Apartment

I have been a resident at Hillside Gardens for a few months now. I went to Hillside gardens for the first time to see if there was an opening - I found out the type of place I was looking for would be available in a few months because a tenant was moving out (I wanted an apartment with basement). I met a man named George George is the Property Manager at Hillside Gardens. I told George that I would like to be a tenant only if the agreement could be made that he is upfront with me when the time came that I had issues (everybody at some point has some sort of issues .basic or complex at some point I knew I would have some sort of request). I have read on other forums that people have had so many problems at dozens of places in the Edison area so I was leery to just sign a contact for a year. For the past few months I have asked for 3-4 minor things to get done I have met a few maintenance people that were friendly once I started to talk to them. They said they have been at Hillside gardens for many years and enjoy being there.

Summary:

I had a few minor issues which were resolved. My place was up to par with what I expected from the initial talks I had with George. Overall I have zero complaints I have neighbors that are very quiet and it appears that the other buildings have a mix of nationalities which consist of 90% working class (which is good to see). Someone said in one of the past posts that this complex is ghetto I think its pretty far from the ghetto. The best way to see what a complex is like is to drive through on weekend nights around 5-7pm and also around lunch time on the weekends. Those times are peak and the tenants outside then should reflect the kind of community you are moving in to. I have seen a few fathers/sons playing catch with baseballs, a few people playing basketball, and a few older people making their daily walks around the complex. As of now I think I have made a good judgment call in moving to this complex.
