the appartments by the management office look a lot better than the ones in the back of the complex. Everything looked nice and landscaped by Mara road but when I finally signed the lease and seen my appartment on Van Wyk it looked like a scene from the Mad Max movie. Lawns are completeley abbandoned and balconies are used as storage, people often leave trash overnight outside their doors even if there are 6 dumpster at less than 200 feet away. People play loud music at any time at night, but you'll get a knock on the door if you're playing music at 10AM. The loundry rooms are unclean and people will often take the liberty of taking your stuff out the drier and just move it around. Neighbors are often unfriendly, lotsa times they'll just pass you by without even acknowledging you. Basically any violation stated on the lease is committed in the complex on daily basis. There is a no pet allowed sign in the management office and on the lease. Alot of people have cats and while walking around at night I even noticed people walking big dogs. Nothing against pets, I know how hard it is to find a pet-friendly complex here in NJ but despite all the pets in the complex keep in mind that if you have one some neighbors may rat on you and then you'll get arressing visits from maintenance. Tenants are not supposed to have satellite dishes outside their balcony yet everyone does. There is also a law that forbids using a grill within a certain distance from a building, yet if I had a penny for every grill I've seen on balconies Id be ok. The rental price for the appartment was not bad, they had a promotion for 835 a month for a one bedroom but in all honesty I can't wait for my lease to be over. The city itself has mostly indian population but hey if you're white trash and proud of it step right in you'll feel right at home

And I am curious about their obsession with "no window AC's". Hello, it does get hot in the summer around here. We were told "it's a hazard to passerby's". Well, if someone is that clumsy enough to walk into a window AC that's sticking out approx. 1 foot from my bedroom window, either they're too close to my window trying to peek in (violation of my privacy) or they need new glasses to be aware of their surroundings. We have lived in apartments for over 30 years (our last one supplied window AC's) and was NEVER told "do not install a window AC's". I would also like to know if there is a "Tenant's Assoc." here, so if anyone has any info, please post it here. Just my humble opinion. Thank you.
