I highly recommend NHC apartments! I am a young single professional who can afford the one bedroom apartment, but for only 100 dollars more, I got an extra bedroom and another full bathroom for guests! It is great in the summer when friends want to visit to go to the beach, since I am only about 20 minutes from most shore points!
The downfall for me is that they do not allow dogs. However, they do allow up to 2 cats, which is great for apartment dwellers anyway. Cats can live happily looking out the window and require very little upkeep. They remind you how to relax and are great company. So I recommend if you live alone, pay a little extra and get a cat. I am going to consider it when I sign the lease again soon. ha ha
I love living here because people are friendly, but never bothersome. I never hear any noise. My apartment is so new! The layout is so beautiful. I feel like I have it all. Washer/dryer/dishwasher/closets/clean walls and floors/storage/pretty windows/good insalation/deck/pool/gym... heck its a resort! If something falls apart because of regular wear and tear, the mantainance guys are always available even for emergencies. They all speak English and some live right here too. I have so much more free time because I never have to fix anything. I go to work, they fix it while I am there and I am very trusting of them.
It may cost a little more to live in luxury, but let me tell you it is worth it. My friends have all had major issues in their complexes in the surrounding Ocean and Monmouth counties. You get what you pay for.
Oh my bills are not that high. Gas is always under 6 dollars (don't cook that much) and electric has never been over 60 dollars a month. I abused the central airconditioner and the heater so far this season already. The water is free here.
When friends visit for the first time, they can't get over what it looks like when they drive in..that is saying alot about how nice the landscaping is etc etc.
I've been here for almost a year, and I never have any concerns about anything. I do recommend they come up with assigned parking because it is true that it is hard to find parking late at night on the weekends. Some families just have so many cars. Their cars just sit there and take up all the spots. So I bet that is why parking is the only major complaint. To me, it looks like the company planned well to make enough parking, but they don't limit their residents either. So we can have as many cars as we want and park where ever we want and then we complain that we can't get parking near our door late at night. You just can't please everyone.
I recently heard that Brick NJ is the safest place to live in the world. Lakewood where this apartment is, is right next door to Brick. The downtown area (also not far from this apartment) in Lakewood has a lot of crime. I am hoping that we can all keep our little world in NHC safe from all the riff-raff that is not far away.
NHC has a great leasing office full of great people. They do not discriminate. I don't think they have any control over what happens when bad people come in and the place falls apart. It is up to us to keep things going good. Therefore, -------s need not apply...we don't want you here.
