Pretty and new, but horrible customer service

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I have been living at New Hampshire Commons for almost a year, and my experience has been mixed. Our apartment is spacious, but we have problems with heating and cooling--the small bedroom gets neither heat nor a/c, despite the vent being wide open. The paint they used to repaint the apartment was very cheap so anything that even touches the wall lightly will leave a mark. The grounds are pretty, great landscaping; I was disappointed by the pool, as the lifeguards sometimes leave early and don't always skim the water so it gets gross. We haven't had too many problems with parking, and we have three cars total--but if you get home late, plan to walk.
The main problem has been customer service/maintenance. The "community building" they advertised is actually only for the management staff to use, no tenants allowed. The "car wash" is basically a stall and a hose with a water hookup--it is very often broken, or someone is parked in the stall. The gym is a room with two treadmills, two bikes, a rowing machine, a weight machine and a TV--however, it is rarely crowded, so it's actually a pretty good gym, although the machines are oldish, dirty, and obviously not cared for. The pool was supposed to open Memorial Day weekend but wasn't ready, and then was only open weekends until late June. We have had a broken window pane in our bedroom which we reported 6 months ago and was never fixed. We did not have cable in our apartment until two months after we moved in; though we were told the apartment was cable- and internet-ready, we had to have several visits by the cable service because the cable that ran through the building had been pierced by a nail years ago, and never fixed--management was absolutely no help ("Not our problem"), and it was a terrible experience, very frustrating.
Like I said, my overall experience has been mixed. Hopefully this review can help you decide if you want to live here and are willing to deal with the management.
