I have been a resident here for the past 16 months, and have never had any major problems. Granted, I am still waiting for the maintenance staff to fix the indent in the bathroom ceiling, but it's ok. I have never been afraid to walk in the development at night, I have never had any problems with my neighbors, and the staff has always been helpful enough. I read in another review that someone was bothered that the staff smoke in the office - yes, they do. And yes, it is really annoying to walk into a cloud of smoke. Both office staffers are nice, but they always seem bothered by questions. They were nice when I moved in, but get less and less as time goes on.
As for the quality of my apartment, I have no complaints. I was lucky enough to get all new kitchen countertops. I had friends that lived in another building and their kitchen was falling apart and gross. It's best to ask to see the actual apartment you will be living in, as opposed to just the model apartment.
My main complaint is the landscapers, who are very perverted.
Also, the pool is expensive and not very nice for the $55 fee. It is always crowded, and not really worth it unless you have small children.
Other that that, I have enjoyed my time at Stonington and would definitely recommend it.
