Don't brush off these reviews as just bad experience..this place is utter crap. I have just renewed my lease for the last time and I would never have done it if it wasn't for having bad luck finding another place that allows dogs. The manager here (monique) is a moron if you ever see her she always has the most clueless face on her. The next worse is Wendy which is guess is the asst manager, both very horrible and unethical people. Their maintenance is alright I guess however they don't really want to fix anything. I've had a problem where my door wouldn't lock and I was asked if I could wait a few days for it to be fixed...they finally fixed it when I demanded it be fixed now. The laundry rooms have an 8pm curfew, and are very limited which is an extreme pain. I only moved here cause I like being near the water and fishing and due to my dog..it will be a cold day in hell before I renew again. I will make it a priority to find a place before my lease is up next yea. Also yes about the heat issue you have no control over it is right. I pay around 120$ a month for heating a small studio during the winter and around 70 during the summer which is a joke. Also they will raise the rent every year no matter what they may tell you the rent is going up each and every year you rent with them.

I couldn't disagree more with the above comments--I have nothing but great things to say about Pleasure Bay and would recommend it to anyone. Yes, we do share the heat expense in each building, but I have friends in other apartment complexes who pay more, especially if it is gas heat. And this was explained in great detail when I first visited Pleasure Bay, so if it's a problem to someone they shouldn't have rented there in the first place! I always get a prompt response when I need maintenance, and Wendy goes out of her way to be friendly and accommodating. All I can say is that if you aren't treated well, maybe you should consider changing the way you treat others...

I have to strongly disagree with the reviewer. The staff is FAR from unethical and they are extremely accomidating and friendly. The heat is on the high side however, it was explained to me when I moved in so if I didn't like it I could have made the decision not to take the apartment. I have always been treated with respect and have learned that how you treat others is usually how you get treated. My suggestion is to make your own decisions on any community, it is a matter of perspective and my perspective is I have no intention on moving any time soon, I feel at home.
