O.K. Overall, However Some Bad Things Reported Are True.

Years at this apartment: 1994 - 1999

I lived in Fox Meadow from 1994 to 1999.

Positives:
The apartmests are located on Route 73, and close to the turnpike and interstate. Close to the malls and shopping. I was there during the big snow storm of 1996 and was able to get to work because route 73 was plowed.

When I lived there, A security car patroled the complex (Although not very effective).

I lived in the back of the complex near the creek. It was relatively quiet. However, walls are a bit thin. I could sometimes hear couples fighting and smell cigarette smoke(However, this was not a cronic problem in my experience). I lived upstairs for security and noise reasons.

Got security deposit back via mail with no problems or delay (Corporate ownership makes security deposit refunds more professional I think.).

Two big walk in closets!

Good size living room and beadroom.

Offered a three month lease option for an extra $50 per month.

Mail is delived in front door slot. (However, this means allot of junk mail!!)

Indoor stairs to upper apartment.

Negatives

My new truck was keyed several times. Limited number of garages cost extra. I made sure I had comprehensive auto insurance and waited for my truck to be keyed all around then got my car repainted for $100 copayment. Found my car on the sidewalk one morning because a smelting truck hit it from behind (I was lucky the man was honest and left a note).

My apartment complex caught on fire on Thanksgiving day 1998. It destroyed 4 apartments two units away from me. Smelled smoke for 6 months until I left (left for a job in California). They never started to rebuild apartments that were destroyed by fire even the one with the collapsed roof.

One murder I know of when I was there. A Korean woman was hatched to death by her pizza maker husband (I am not joking!). He turned on the airconditioner during the winter to preserve the body. About 2 months later someone found the body because they wanted to know why the airconditioner was on!

Landry room had many broken machines and was not cleaned often. Garbage cans seamed to be full all the time. Washing machines maintained by third party vendor. So you get allot of finger pointing and passing the buck about this problem.

Bathroom and kitchen were vary small.(Not a big deal for me but some people may not like this).

The central heating is gas. The heating and cooling unit are behind doors on the balcony. The pilot light blew out every couple of weeks. It took the maintenece people several days to fix this recurring problem. The heating unit in another apartment caused the fire in my building.

Some of the onsight maintenance people are not very professional and can be nasty.

Summary

Excellent location for highway and shopping. relatively quiet (based on my experience).

Not a good place to live if you drive a high price car. Gas heating makes for a fire hazzard. Mainenance is not always reliable.

Keep in mind I was a quiet tenant and kept to myself. It takes allot to get me upset. I come from Southern California so my expectations were low. Overall I was relatively happy there. Considering some of the other options in the area you could do allot worse.
