Well I'm a fairly new move in and here's my take:
Negative: The only significant problem that I've had is the three baby roaches that I killed in my bathroom. I know they didnt come from me, as I KNOW that I dont carry that type of filth! So I called it into maintence and they gave me about 3-4 days that they coud be out to take care of it and sent me notice in the mail. Obviously I took my own initiative and purchased insect killer from the Home Depot.
Positive: The price was good, I dont see my neighbors much and dont have any issues with anyone. No loud noises (except the traffic on Rt. 73 during rush hour). The management was very nice and the maintence responded to my requests within 2-3 days, which wasnt bad b/c the request weren't major (i.e. light change, garbage disposal). Haven't had a problem with parking at all and pray to God that my car doesnt become a victim (as per the negative postings)
Overall, I like my new apartment. I only plan to be here for a year, but so far I'm comfortable with the facility.

I must agree. I'm a fairly new resident (Jan '05) and so far haven't had many problems - thank God! I rarely see my neighbors and haven't had any issues with them as of yet. I purposely chose an end unit so that I wouldn't be bothered with anyone and so far so good. I do believe the unit above me is empty so I hope that no one moves in who has the annoying habits that others have mentioned on here. If so, I have no problem kickin in the door and stickin my foot - well, you know where. Insects, yeah, I can see that. We've had ants in our kitchen and those little ants with wings in our bathroom. Like others, a little insect killer from the store took care of that. Now we randomly have spiders in different parts of the house but we attributed that to the weather changing. After reading a lot of these posts about insects, I'm not so sure it's the weather. Garbage - I live next to the dumpsters. They are indeed messy but actually not as smelly as I would think. People often leave things next to them too, but that's only after they are full to capacity. Noise, the only problem I had was the other night when someone decided to work on their motorcycle right next to my unit. Needless to say, I lost some sleep and if it happens again I'm calling the police and NOT the front office after some of the things I've read here! Overall, so far so good. |
