I've lived in Fox Meadow since August of 2004. It isn't the best place in the world, but it could be worse.

My complaints... Maintence sucks. I've had water damage in my bedroom forever and they haven't done anything except paint over it. They do fix some things immediately, but I have to physically go to the maintenance building and bat my eyelashes and show some cleavage. Hey, what am I supposed to do when my sink is regurgitating everything from the garbage disposal' Also, I have some friends who live in Fox Meadow and their heater broke and maintenance didn't come out for almost a month. Their place was an oven.

My biggest concern is safety. The walkways are not well lit, the bushes are big enough and unkept enough for anyone to hide behind them, the parking lot is also frightening. Once we got a flyer from maintenance saying there was a violent intruder running loose and entering homes in the complex. My husband's car was broken into, for about two months there were about 8-10 cars that got their windows smashed. I remove my stereo from my car every night. I keep my doors locked an blinds down. I am scared when I'm alone here.

My Positives... Location, I can get to center city Philadelphia in 25 minutes, Marlton is just down the highway, and the turnpike is close, too. I love having a washer & dryer in my home, and the stainless steel refridgerator/kitchen is very nice looking. There is more than enough closet space (except for in the upstairs bathroom.) I like the big windows in every room of the townhouse. Also, I never hear my neighbors on either side.

I'm moving out at the end of my lease in 2008. Overall, I have survived Fox Meadow. I have read the bad reviews and before I moved there they freaked me out. Before moving in, I brought up my concerns to one of the leasing agents, even mentioned this site. He helped to assure me, of course. Everything has gone relatively smoothly since we moved in (besides the carjacking thing.) I would not recommend this place for single women or families with young children.

P.S.

And your rent goes up $30 every year you renew.

Yes, I am sure that leasing and being situated near the office makes all the difference. I'm sure your experience is as picture perfect as the apartment display models lead prospects to believe. "Reality" bites however for the un-chosen few that bought into the lower rent and the "Frontin' at the front", (intentionally misspelled) over two years ago. My experience started out as a simple regrouping effort after divorce and the loss of a family home as result. A current unemployment has me "up against the ropes" and unable to make a move out of "the Fox Ghetto". Initially the place did not appear so bad... just a matter of, what u get for the money, then the marketing facade began to drip away and the graffiti revealed. After the first year, most law abiding, prideful, English speaking people joined the exodus for a better life. In their place, a non-stop flow of dope-toting, sex hustling, occupancy busting, flashy car driving, loud musicana playing, bail-in-the dark-of- night, unprincipled, ignorant, record having, illegal M13's, jumped the fence through word of mouth. No longer do neighbors pass with a ???how ya doin??????, rather they shoulder you off the walk with a snicker and a -----eyed glance once you are past. From time to time, you can recognize a word of profanity amidst their ramblings. Once by their cars, they dump its trash to the lot in order to enter them. The place is a dump, ???Hell on Earth??? to be precise. Fox Ghetto is a mere step up from the ???hourly??? rates to be had at the end of the road, ???Rivera???. If you ever consider moving out???now???s a good time. Enjoy

I have my doubts about "this" author. What decent, married woman with half a brain, would go to a maintenance building, where there are obviously MEN, bats her eyelashes, shows some cleavage, leery of dark walkways and still is afraid to be alone? Sounds like you set your own trap, Miss Misinformed. I lived at Fox Meadow for about 7 years before I had to relocate to help out a sick family member. I am rethinking of moving back to Fox Meadow because I enjoyed it so much. The rent was reasonable and I never experienced any problems and I did NOT live next to the rental office. If you hated it so much, perhaps you should have handed out fliers, at the rental office, to prospective inquiring people. But I think my first reaction was more on the ball. Good riddance to you, I say.
