Where would I even start'''

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2003
1) I was paying $760 for a 1b/1b my last year renting there. I got a notice that they were raising my rent yet again to $780. I found a house to rent for $800 with a usable attic and basement, and enclosed sunporch. Oh- and 2 bedrooms. In a beautiful town.
2) My car was broken into 3 times. My insurance cards were taken. I had money in the same envelope as the card, but only the card was taken.
3) Domestic Volience runs rampid thru this community. One of my neighbors hid out in my apartment until the police came. A lot of mentally unstabled people live here too. Sometimes the police do not even answer their phone and when you decide to call 911 they will flip on you that what you are calling for in not an emergancy.
4) late at night, in my bedroom, you can see the sliding glass door. I was getting ready for bed and noticed that there was movement. When I finally focused my eyes, someone came into my house and into my kitchen and grabed a box of donuts. He ran fast when I started to scream. . . . along with my box of donuts.
5) Major Termite problem. the 2 1/2 years there, we dreaded march and april. My whole bedroom engulfed and since it was friday evening, their response was: first thing monday morning i will let someone know. HELLO> I cant sleep in my bedroom. The second year, not only the bedroom but the living room too. We pushed the sofa into the dining room and slept there for a week before it was taken care of. I held my rent payment because of this and they fined me. I should pay for a place where i have to eat and sleep and hang out in my dining room.
6) Laundry facilities in one word sucks!!! No one respects anyone elses stuff and either throws it on the floor or leaves wet stuff in the washer. I- out of the kindest of my heart- waited for a dryer that hasn't been touched in a few hour, I took the laundry out and folded it. I place a note on it just saying that it was my pleasure to help them out. I got a nasty letter back that I do not want to repeat on my door.
7) Maintence- My oven keeps breaking but they wont replace it after numerous repairs. My toilet is still probably still running. They did a lock change on my door on a friday. I never requested it. I was locked out and my poor dog was locked it.
8) safety - windows do not lock. I bought wood at home depot to place in the grooves.
and there is more . . . if you would like to know, e mail me at urascream@aol.com
It is a shame that NJ has one of the highest rents and all we get is crap. What are lower income families supposed to do'' Move to Camden. Sometimes I was at that point to move to Camden. It is probably nicer.
