Large apartment for the rent, but you get what you pay for...

I moved into a 2 bedroom / 1 & 1/2 bath with a friend in May of 2006, and I'd say that while this is a good apartment for recent college grads or people on a budget, it definately has its issues.

First the good news:
Cheap. Our rent recently went up to $1015/month for 2 bed 1 & 1/2 bath. Out of all the other places I've seen in the area, the bedrooms, kitchen, and living room in this place are all absolutely huge by comparison. For the most part the place is clean, and maintainence is on the ball. I lived in the smaller bedroom, and it was larger than most of the master bedrooms I've seen in competing apartment complexes.

Almost no noise problems. There was only one time I thought I heard a neighbor through the wall, and it may have well been my roomate and his friends, heh, so no complaints there, although my downstairs neighbor once said she could here us late at night, but this only happened on one occasion. Upstairs apartments might be better if noise is an issue for you.

The other news:
The buildings are starting to show their age, and the parking lot is in dire need of repair. That being said, the landscaping is apparently being redone, and some of the sidewalks are currently being replaced, so it appears maintenance is aware and is at least making an effort.

The "1 & 1/2 bathrooms" is kind of a joke. They are both next to each other, and the half bathroom is almost useless. I mean, why bother when both are off to the same side of the apartment' It would have made more sense if the half bathroom had a door leading directly to one of the bedrooms, but it does not. Tenants would be better served if the half bathroom was turned into a laundry room.

Overall I had a good experience here. You get what you pay for, and in this case, maybe a little more. It's not "Luxury Living" by any stretch, but the apartments in general are spatious and clean, the neighbors are polite, and management is ok, although it might benefit them to work on their communication skills a little.
