I've lived here for almost two years and will be moving out at the end of my lease next month. I have a 3rd floor apartment. I have had some maintenance issues - they really don't do a quick job of fixing things. My air conditioner broke in the middle of a heat wave last summer and it took them 3 days to fix it. My water heater broke earlier this year and it took them 5 days to replace it. It was not only irritating but I had to go live in PA with my family and drive an hour to work each way while I waited for them to get around to fixing things. When I put a note in with my rent payment and requested a break on my rent for the days I was without these things, they just ignored me. I have had leaks in my windows and bedroom closet during heavy rain storms. My toilet runs almost nonstop and they have been out to "fix" it but obviously they didn't do a good job. My fire alarm malfunctions weekly and they just tell me I need a new battery each time. My air conditioning bills are about $200 a month in the summer b/c the place is so poorly insulated. If the management were better, the place might not be so bad. But they don't really care. I witnessed my neighbor fall flat on his back earlier this week because of ice on the sidewalk that hadn't been salted. It's very hazardous there in the winter - if you are older or fragile at all, not a good place to be becuase you'll get hurt. Management could care less, truthfully. A tree fell on someone's car earlier this year and the mess stayed there for about a week. And I hear that the apartment complex won't take financial responsibility for it. I'm moving to a much nicer place next month and can't wait to get out of here. I will, however, make sure I do a walk through with them before I leave - I don't trust them at all!
