The noise level here is RIDICULOUS. I can hear both of my neighbors' loud televisions AND their bathroom fans, and the street noise (cars passing by) doesn't allow me to keep my sliding glass door open--unless I plan to raise the volume of my TV or stereo to a screaming level..Plus, the water is rusty and Alice (the manager) is rude. Maintenance enters my apartment when I haven't asked them to because they get the apartment numbers wrong when other people call with complaints, and the rent increases are unfair ($30 more per month). On the other hand, maintenance is prompt when I have a problem, and the management company is good about replacing broken or malfunctioning items. Plus, parking is always easy--even if tall bushes encroach upon the walkways and create a potentially unsafe situation. I recommend this place if you don't mind noise and if you filter your water.

I'm planning to move to Allison for lack of better choices in my budget in this area. Can someone please respond and tell me what this problem with rusty water is? Isn't this a health hazard and isn't the township doing anything about it? What explanation has the management provided regarding this problem and has it ever got resolved?

"wreckavic": you must be from Davis. I'd like to know specifically what is being done to resolve the rusty water problem. They're probably not isolated events because more than one person here seems to be complaining about it, and it seems like an ongoing problem over many months. This apartment also seems to have some parking problems: the parking spaces are tight (not as wide as many other parking lots) and there are large trees that sag over the parking areas. I have seen large dried branches fallen allover parked cars on windy days that can dent cars, and even lots of bird droppings. It seems EVERYONE tries to park away from the trees. In front of every building the parking spots away from trees are occupied and those right under are left vacant by tenants.

If you go around the parking lots and complex you will notice trees marked to be removed with orange X's and others to be trimmed. The water issue and it's color comes from the township, the hydrants are flushed periodically to help the situation, but that lasts about 3 weeks.

Reading these postings, especially from 'heidy007' is ridiculous. It's probably safe to assume that most of you have loads of money and have been fortunate enough to pay 1K dollars for a 1bedroom apartment...Because if you are anything like me and wish to pay a reasonable amount of money for a safe, nice sized apartment, you would not disagree that Allison is a great place to live. Everyone is talking about this rusty water problem - I have been here for a year now and I have not had any rusty water come out of my spicket. Moreover, maintenance has been very good with not entering my apartment if i ask them in advance to not come in when I will not be home. Parking is not ever an issue, and no the parking lots for individual cars are NOT TIGHT. If you own an SUV or a truck, sure it's small but if you're rich enough to ride around in a big car (Hummer) then why do you have to pay this kind of money and stay at Allison? With that being said, the only bad thing i can say about Allison is it's proximity to the swamp. My fiancee's friends just moved into a unit which is right next to the swamp and in that particular complex, there are a lot of trees hanging over and... it just doesn't look safe there. Overall, Allison is great for the money you're paying. If you are complaining about it, then go pay $1K and go somewhere else to get yourself a tiny apartment where you have to pay for all of the amenities.

What is the deal with the swamp? It looks unsafe and I am nervous about living near that. Also, any more insight about the apartments would help. The price seems good but I am not sure how sincere they are when it comes the appliances being new, new carpets, etc. Some apartments in there seem to have the new stuff and others don't. It is frustrating to find out after the fact that the apartment you are to have has all old rusty appliances and beat up ceilings..etc..I am dissapointed and would like a comment one way or another from someone on this place! Thanks.
