While out apartment hunting for hours and then finding Allison apartments I thought the search was finally over. Allison apartments seemed to have everything that I was looking for, a washer/dryer, gas stove, and dishwasher. So I did what you are suposse to do file out and application and then sent my boyfriend back up to see the apartment manager (Alice) the next day to do the same. This is where the problems started. She told him that my credit score came back good enough that he didn't have to be on the lease, so he didn't fill out an application. I went back up a week later to get the lease and it read that only 1 adult was allowed to ocupy the apartment. I then called her the go over some questions which inculded the said statement before about the boyfriend being on the lease. She was like O he is going to be moving in also. This was the first case where I thought I was loosing my mind. When I was up there origianlly with my mother we had discuss everything with Alice including the boyfriend. The next couple of weeks just got worse. As this was only the first week of july and our scheduled move in date was not until August 31st she told me that the security deposit was not due until August 1st... then the phone calls started. Alice herself called me on a regular basis harrassing me about the $950 security deposit. I even had to go as far as to call her manager Luane to express the problems I was having with Alice. A week went by and we where still going to move into the apartment dispite all the issues I was haveing when she again called me asking if I could just bring the $950.00 up on the weekend and when I told her no that I had until Aug 1st and it only being July 13th that I still had time when she hung up the phone on me. I then called her back to tell her how unprofessional she was and she hung up again. My boyfriend was so mad that she was so rude to me that he drove right back up there and got our $100 check that was to hold the apartment back. When he went up there she didn't even know who is was ansd asked him why he was unhappy with the apartments. Well I wasn't in the room, but I could just imagine what he said to her.
Conclusion: Alice from Allison apartments is a complete idiot!!!!!!!!!!!

The reason why they really don't have children is because They don't allow children which is discrimination! I walk into this apartment complex and ask if she had any two bedroom apartments available, she said yes she had one coming up in July, well she gave me an application and I filled it out handed it to her and she look it over and said wait! we do not allow children and I said why, she said the owner of the complex is an older gentlemen and that this is his rules... well I said that is discrimination, she said well that's our policy. and I was very disappointed because I am a single mother who works very hard and it is very difficult to fine a apartment with low rent that I can afford. I don't want to move out of the area because I don't want to take my children out of school, they started school here in kindergarten. I did some research and found that the Civil Rights New Jersey Law State Against Discrimination, N.J.S.A.10:5-1 to-49 makes it unlawful to Discriminate in the sale or rental on housing based on a person's race, creed, color, national origin, ancestry, nationality, affectional or sexual orientation, disability, gender, marital status, or familial status(whether you have a "CHILD", a parent-child relationship with a minor, or you are pregnant! So if anyone reading this feels you have been denied housing or treated differently for any one reason listed above, you should contact the Division on Civil Rights at (609)984-3138 I sure did!
